Community Reads is a newly developed literacy program sponsored by Community Connections of Iowa. We are currently raising money for a dedicated space, where we will work with children and adult on their reading and writing skills. We believe that knowing how to read is not only important, it is essential to our community. Like the old saying goes, "The more you read, the more you know!" Knowing how to read also raises self-esteem and confidence, which can help kids succeed. 

Our program will consist of free 1/2 hour reading sessions individuals can sign up for. After they complete five sessions, they have the opportunity to pick out a book for free. 

Bookends is our fundraising project that we hope will provide us with enough funds to make our vision of a dedicated space come true. Our goal to to open our center by the end of the year. You can browse through our books by clicking here.  We are also raising funds through a new project, Road trip Take Alongs, custom-filled tote bags for kids. The tote bags are filled with activities and snacks parent s can choose online and is delivered to their door.
